Billy Currington – This Event is Sold Out
Event on 2018-05-25 21:00:00

Billy Curringtons latest album bears the breezy title Summer Forever, but the talented Georgia native has spent more than a decade in the spotlight proving hes truly a man for all seasons. Possessing one of the smoothest and most distinct voices in any genre of music, Currington is equally skilled at delivering upbeat summertime anthems as well as exploring the complexities of life and love with a poignant ballad. On Summer Forever, Curringtons sixth studio album, he brings both with a collection of songs that will take the listener on a riveting musical journey and leavethem breathless at the end of the ride. Since his self-titled debut album bowed on Mercury Records in 2003, Currington has scored eleven career No. 1 singles, most recently, Dont Hurt Like It Used To. His other hits that reached the No. 1 spot includesuch memorable songsas Good Directions, Let Me Down Easy, Must Be Doin Somethin Right, People Are Crazy, Thats How Country Boys Roll, Hey Girl, and We Are Tonight. Over the years, the self-effacing Georgia boy has amassed an impressive list of accolades. He won the Hottest Video of the Year honor at the fan-voted CMT Music Awards for Must Be Doin Somethin Right in 2006. The same year, he received an ACM nod for Top New Male Vocalist. His hit duet with Shania Twain, Party for Two, earned nominations from both the CMA and ACM. People Are Crazy took Curringtons already hot career to another level. He earned Grammy nominations for Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song in addition to being nominate for Single and Song of the Year from the Country Music Association. Currington has come a long way from his rural Georgia roots. He spent his early years on Tybee Island before his family moved inland to Rincon. He grew up listening to vinyl records by Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kenny Rogers, and when his mom took him to one of Rogers concerts, 10-year-old Billy knew immediately he wanted to someday be the one on stage performing. However, he wasnt sure how he was going to get there. To be honest, I never even heard of Nashville till I was 17 or 18, he says. All that changed when Curringtons pastor recognized his talent while he was singing in church, and decided to give the youngster some career guidance. He had been living in Nashville at one point, Curringtonrecalls. He said, Man, theres a town called Nashville that you can get a record deal. Your dreams could come true. Im going to take you there. So he took me and showed me the town. He introduced me to people. When I got back home, I totally made up my mind that when I graduated high school I was going to go back. And so he did. He made the move to Music City at 18 and began paying his dues by pouring concrete and working as a personal trainer at a gym during the day. At night, he was getting a musical education playing in bars all over Nashville. Naturally, he began meeting other aspiring songwriters and artists. He began writing songs and his warm, strong voice made him one of the towns most in demand demo singers. I was doing 10 demos a day, he says. Before you know it, I started getting deal offers from record labels. He signed with Mercury in 2003, and immediately garnered attention with his debut single, Walk a Little Straighter, an autobiographical song about life with his alcoholic stepfather. The song peaked at No. 8, an auspicious debut for a newcomer. He proved the quick success was no fluke when he followed with I Got A Feelin, which became his first top five hit. From there, the hits continued as his sophomore album Doin Somethin Rightspawned his first No. 1 with Must Be Doin Somethin Right and his second No. 1 with Good Directions. Released in 2008, his third album, Little Bit of Everything, featured five songs co-written by Currington. The Bobby Braddock/Troy Jones penned People Are Crazy became his third No. 1 and he followed that with a song he co-wrote, Thats How Country Boys Roll, which also hit the top of the charts. In September 2010, Currington released Enjoy Yourself, which included No. 1 hits Pretty Good atDrinkin Beer and Let Me Down Easy. His fifth album, We Are Tonight, further fueled him momentum spawning two No. 1 singles Hey Girl and the title track. Though Currington has grown in knowledge and confidence, his goals in making Summer Forever is the same as when he recorded his debut. Music is a snapshot of peoples lives and most of all, I want to leave people in a happy place, he says with a smile. Whether theyre sitting on a beach listening to this album or theyre walking around their house or cleaning their house or whatever. Wherever theyre at listening to this album, I want to leave them with a happy and peaceful feeling.

Top 5 Reasons to Visit Santa Barbara This Fourth of July Weekend and Beyond

Family having summer fun at West Beach in Santa Barbara; Photo by Ron Berg

Looking for a little freedom from your routine this Independence Day? Whether you need ideas for Fourth of July weekend or a getaway before Labor Day, Santa Barbara inspires this summer with many reasons to visit, from its beautiful beaches and famed red-tiled rooftops to its acclaimed wine and food, arts and culture and outdoor recreation. Here are the top five reasons to escape to the American Riviera®, located just 92 miles north of Los Angeles:

1) Beautiful, Safe Beaches and Outdoor Adventure

When it comes to outdoor recreation, Santa Barbara is an equal-opportunity water, land and air destination. In just one day, you can surf, kayak or paddleboard over the waves; hike nearly 2,500 feet above sea level to Gaviota Peak and take a dip in natural hot springs; horseback ride in the Santa Barbara hills; or rock climb Lizard’s Mouth and the majestic Rock Playgrounds. If golf is your game, Santa Barbara’s many world-class golf courses will beckon with their rolling fairways and panoramic views. If you prefer a bird’s eye perspective, you can hang glide over Santa Barbara’s bucolic foothills. Or spend the day in the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary, where you can catch a glimpse of migrating whales, dolphins, marine mammals and pelagic birds.

Of course, if you just want to lounge on the beach, Santa Barbara offers more than 100 miles of shoreline to enjoy with warm sunshine and refreshing breezes all summer. Some visitors have wondered about the state of the region’s beaches following the Refugio spill (some 23 miles north of the city of Santa Barbara). The good news is that 19 of the area’s 20 beaches have been declared safe and thousands of visitors have been flocking to the beaches for weeks. El Cápitan State Beach reopens today (Friday, June 26) for camping and day visits, with Refugio State Beach slated to reopen in mid-July.

2) Great Summer Hotel Deals and Packages

Whether you’re looking for a hotel with fabulous July 4th activities or spa, golf and culinary packages – some with savings of up to 20 percent – look no further than Santa Barbara this summer. With sophisticated urban amenities and small-town coastal charm, Santa Barbara hotels offer the chance to relax with style. Click here for a list of the latest summer offerings or go to Visit Santa Barbara’s special deals page, http://www.santabarbaraca.com/things-to-do/special-offers/, which are constantly updated.

3) Fourth of July and Summer Events

If you’re in town for the Fourth, there are many ways to celebrate the weekend, with fireworks sparkling at the top of the list. Enjoy spectacular displays with live music from the beaches near Stearns Wharf, or for an adventurous experience, on board the Condor Express, on a Fourth of July evening cruise in the coastal waters outside the Santa Barbara Harbor. The remaining days of summer offer a host of other scintillating events, from the California Wine Festival (July 16-18) to the French Festival (July 18-19 – don’t miss the Poodle Parade!), Old Spanish Days Fiesta (August 5-9 – this year’s theme is Fiesta Romantica) to the 20th annual Santa Barbara Mariachi Festival (August 8) and more. Click here for details and additional options.

4) Epicurean Paradise

Whether you’re a wine geek, fervent foodie, seasoned chef of just someone with an endless appetite for great food, Santa Barbara offers an unforgettable taste vacation. Inspired by abundant, locally sourced, seasonal produce, seafood and meats, young upstarts and long-renowned chefs alike are making Santa Barbara’s culinary scene one of the most exciting in California. Forward-thinking mixologists are putting their spin on old classics and inventing new cocktails inspired by freshly harvested herbs, fruits and vegetables at local farmers markets. A great way to experience this bounty first-hand is to sign up for the Farmers Market Foodie Stroll, where Executive Chef David Rosner of the Wine Cask takes guests to the local market to pick ingredients and then transforms their selections into a delectable multi-course dinner paired with local wines.

Made famous in the film Sideways, the area’s wine regions, which include five distinct AVAs, are popular with oenophiles and food lovers, who sip everything from world-class pinots to chardonnays and syrahs. Urbanites can savor the region’s signature libation along the Urban Wine Trail in downtown Santa Barbara or veer off the path for a cool glass of medal-winning beer at one of the area’s 18 craft breweries. Active types can bike their way through sun-streaked Santa Ynez Valley vineyards, pausing to taste along the way. And art aficionados may want to merge their appreciation for wine and art with experiences that pair the two. Learn about these options and more at http://www.santabarbaraca.com/things-to-do/food-drink/.

5) Unique Cultural Experiences and Attractions

Santa Barbara offers a canvas of experiences filled with unforgettable performances, artistic creations and cultural attractions that define its unique character. From the Santa Barbara Museum of Art and cool, contemporary art studios in the Funk Zone to soul-stirring performances at local theaters and sweeping architecture, inspired sights and sounds abound in Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara Trolley Company offers a great way to see some of the area’s attractions, with ongoing daily narrated tours to sites such as Butterfly Beach, Stearns Wharf, Old Mission Santa Barbara and the Andrée Clark Bird Refuge. Families shouldn’t miss the Santa Barbara Zoo, set on a hillside estate with ocean views, where they can hand-feed the giraffes. Or experience the region’s upscale cowboy culture with a stay at the Circle Bar B Guest Ranch and Stables, featuring horseback riding and gourmet dinners. Christian Financial Services Encourages Giving this Holiday Season

San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) January 06, 2015

Thanksgiving is now over, a holiday that once celebrated the harvest season. Everyone gathers on Thanksgiving with loved ones to share whatever “bounty” they may have, but this practice doesn’t have to begin and end with food. Christian Financial Services recommends incorporating the spirit of sharing into one’s overall financial strategy for the rest of the holiday season.

Here are a few suggestions for doing just that:

Make financial gifts: Charitable contributions to churches or one’s favorite charity make all the difference. To be tax-deductible in the current year, they must be made before Dec. 31. Remember, donations to Christian Financial Services are also tax-deductible. Give shares of stock to loved ones, or perhaps give them money to help fund their IRAs. (They must have earned income, however, to be eligible to contribute to an IRA.) One can give up to $ 14,000 per year, per recipient. If married, spouses can each give up to the $ 14,000 yearly limit.

Review insurance policies: If something were to happen, is life insurance sufficient to take care of the family? In other words, would there be enough money available to pay off the mortgage, send the children to college and help the surviving spouse meet at least some of his or her retirement expenses? A financial professional can help determine if one’s life insurance is sufficient for one’s needs.

Invest in the children’s future: To help children meet the high costs of higher education, one might want to invest in a college savings vehicle. One option to consider is a 529 plan. When contributing to a 529 plan, earnings are subject to tax-free growth potential, and distributions are free of federal taxes, provided they are used for qualified higher education expenses. (Keep in mind, though, that Section 529 plan distributions not used for these qualified expenses may be subject to income tax and a 10 percent penalty.) Furthermore, if investing in one’s home state’s 529 plan, one may receive state tax incentives. Tax issues for 529 plans can be complex, though, so it’s necessary to consult with a tax advisor about the situation. Another benefit of 529 plans: one can control the assets right up to the point at which they are actually used. So, if one has been putting away money for a particular child (or grandchild) and he or she decides against college, one can easily switch to another beneficiary.

For more information on how to share more financially this holiday season, or to make a donation, contact Christian Financial Services today at (210)341-5911.

Yisrayl Hawkins Says Prophecy is Coming to Pass in this Time Period and Explains What to Expect Next

Abilene, Texas (PRWEB) January 16, 2015

Yisrayl Hawkins, Pastor at The House of Yahweh in Abilene, Texas, has written a new article explaining bible prophecy for the current time period and writes about what events are yet to come. The article was published this week on his blog.

In the article, Yisrayl gives many Prophecies he says are clearly described in the Holy Scriptures. He writes about the ongoing wars that have plagued the United States and most countries for years. Yisrayl says these wars, shown in the bible, will increase, reach a boiling point, and after that, great change.

He also writes about the Two Witnesses spoken of many times in the bible. He says he can tell you: #1 who they are, #2 where they are, #3 what their job is, and #4 how they are fulfilling prophecy right now.

Yisrayl also says there is a prophecy that speaks of the Message of the Kingdom of Heaven being brought to all nations, and the names of those shown in Scripture who will bring it forth at this time. This article shows absolute proof.

He also includes a topic that has been a question since the beginning of time – the purpose for the creation of mankind. Yisrayl says there is a very specific reason mankind was created.

“The Plan from the beginning is that Yahweh would select, from the creation of mankind, people who would practice the Perfect Righteousness of Yahweh,” Yisrayl says.

He says the ones who are selected will fulfill a very special job that will last all eternity. He shows that anyone can obtain this position with training and guidance, and he is offering both.
