How to build best-in class Operations for e-commerce and how to adapt for fast-growth

How to build best-in class Operations for e-commerce and how to adapt for fast-growth
Event on 2016-04-29 08:00:00
Paulo Castanon (MBA 02D) is delighted to invite you to the 6th edition of the breakfast series: HOW TO BUILD BEST-IN CLASS FOR E-COMMERCE AND HOW TO ADAPT TO FAST-GROWTH (from 8:30 to 10:00 – Breakfast served at 8:00) With Everett Hutt, CEO Groupe 3SI & Jean-Michel Garneri, Managing Director, Oscaro.com e-Retail operations are getting extremely complicated. It is no longer a case of simply stocking warehouses with desirable goods and waiting for e-shoppers to fill-in the shopping cart. Rapid developments in technology are changing the game. Modern-day e-retailers have to make their goods available via websites and mobile apps, run efficient e-commerce operations, deliver goods to the consumer's front door in a snap and be prepared to manage a backlash on social media if things go wrong. Consumers are becoming more demanding and less willing to tolerate failure. They want a seamless end-to-end shopping experience however they interact with the e-retailer. Behind that experience underlies an operation that needs to be agile, lean and effective. We have the privilege to have in our next round table two exceptional business leaders from two fast-growing and highly successful e-commerce companies. Everett Hutt from Group 3SI and Jean-Michel Guarneri from Oscaro.com will help us understand how to run best-in class operations and fulfil the consumer expectations in a fast evolving environment.    ABOUT: The Operations & Supply Chain club goals are to: 1) be a platform of exchange on experience and best practice, 2) be a source expertise where state of the art practices and technology are analysed, 3) contribute to extend the network of professionals that share common interests and challenges. Kid to Kid and Uptown Cheapskate Customers Raise Money to Build the First of Three Schools in Africa

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) May 08, 2015

Customers of Kid to Kid and Uptown Cheapskate stores across the country raised $ 51,613 on April 25 at charity Fill-A-Bag sale events. These funds are more than enough to build one school, and the remaining amount will go towards building a second school in the near future. Kid to Kid and Uptown Cheapskate—Salt Lake City based resale franchises—have partnered with buildOn, a non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty, illiteracy and low expectations through service and education.

“These schools our customers are helping us build will serve hundreds of children that have never attended a real school before,” said Shauna Sloan, President and Founder of Kid to Kid. “We are thrilled we can contribute to such an amazing cause and provide our customers with fashionable clothes at the same time.”

Kid to Kid and Uptown Cheapskate plan to raise a total of $ 100,000 by the end of the year, which is enough to build a total of three schools in Mali, Senegal and Burkina Faso.

At the Fill-A-Bag events, large shopping bags were sold for just a $ 15 donation to buildOn, and customers stuffed as much donated product into the bags as they could fit. Most of the sale merchandise was donated by customers.

Each school will accommodate up to 150 kids and feature two classrooms, a roof, toilets, and classroom supplies. buildOn partners with the ministry of education in each country and the local villages—which provide the land, local materials, and some construction labor. buildOn contributes the engineering, special materials, skilled labor and project supervision. The village is also required to send girls to school in equal numbers with boys for gender balance and equality.
