The GlobalSouthTech originally got started in New York City, and is now more than 37 different cities worldwide, and have organized over 60 meetups connecting tech people around the world.  Our guest panelist will include: William Bao Bean (Managing Partner Chinaccelerator) - William is an Investment Partner at SOSV and the Managing Director of Chinaccelerator,  the first and best Software accelerator in China. William is based in Shanghai. William joined SOSV from SingTel Innov8 where he was the Managing Director supporting China investment activities. While at Innov8 he led investments in Yodo1 (mobile games), Gmobi (Android platform), Lekan (childrens video platform), and Massive Impact (mobile advertising) among others. Previously William was a Partner at Softbank China & India Holdings, an early stage venture capital firm backed by Softbank of Japan and Cisco Scott Pollack (BD Executive, Angel Investor) - Scott has 20 years of strategy, business development, sales, marketing, product and consulting experience primarily in the internet/technology industries, Scott has been developing businesses in the United States and Asia (including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Singapore). Doing business in Asia since 1999 and living in China since 2005. Scott joined Thoughtful Media Group in 2013 to launch and grow China’s first multi-channel network (MCN) of online video creators. Scott was also a Partner in charge of Gallup Consulting’s Shanghai office and then as Director of McKinsey’s Insights China. Scott holds a BA in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and MBA in finance and a JD from UCLA.  Linda Li (Managing Director Vickers Venture Partners) - Linda is a member of the Investment Committee at Vickers. Her areas of focus include consumer internet, mobile applications, digital media and financial services. Linda also worked as a Statistical Modelling Research Associate at Singapore’s National Institute of Education where she did statistical analysis and research reports for the Ministry of Education. Linda co-founded the PE/VC group of the Peking University Alumni. She is also a member of the PKU Wall Street Alumni and PKU PE Alliance. Linda graduated from the School of Government of Beijing University and subsequently earned her Master’s Degree from the National University of Singapore David Chen (CEO - Strinkingly YC) - Co-Founder & CEO of Strikingly, a Y Combinator-backed company that allows anyone to set up a gorgeous, mobile optimized website in minutes. In 2012, David dropped out from the University of Chicago to start Strikingly along with his two 2 cofounders, Teng Bao and Dafeng Guo. He moved to Silicon Valley with 0 in his pocket and were accepted into Y Combinator after eating ramen noodle in their 1 bedroom apartment for 5 months. Before Strikingly, he cofounded Moneythink, a non-profit financial literacy education organization. Moneythink was the winner of the 2013 MassChallenge 100K award, and is now funded by Blackstone, recognized by the White House as the Champions of Change, and featured on Forbes, MTV, the Chicago Tribune, and U.S. News. In 2016, he was honored to be named Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia. Jacob Rothman (Founder Platform88) -  Jacob is partner and Angel Investor at Platform88; it is a network of energetic and experienced manufacturers, engineers, designers, retail professionals, industry experts and investors dedicated to helping develop young startups and ideas. He is also a Board Member at Velong Industries. Velong Industries was founded in 2002, and is located in Yang Jiang, China. With over 200 factory workers, and a growing design team, Velong has quickly become a great source for innovatively designed, and well made OEM grilling products. Jacob studied at Bowdoin college and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Religion/Religious Studies and Psychology. Jacob has over fifteen years of experience working in China Darren Camas (FinTech: Blockchain, Bitcoin || BitNexo) - Darren was has been an active early adopter and entrepreneur in the Bitcoin and blockchain space. In 2011 he helped start and run one of the world's first multi-currency Bitcoin exchanges, and has since launched one of the largest brokerages in Latin America as well as BitNexo, named top early stage FinTech venture in Latin America by the Spanish bank BBVA. He is an advisor to several FinTech startups, and is the general strategy consultant for the Cardano Protocol, a next generation Blockchain project. Geoffrey Handley (Advisor Mentor @Nest Investments) - Geoffrey is a global entrepreneur, investor and advisor with over 20 years experience in the global digital business. Raised in Hong Kong and based in Shanghai, he is the Founding General Partner of Haitao Capital, the first China-macro venture fund focusing on highlighting the Chinese startup ecosystem globally. He is a 5-time founder, most notably of Snakk Media (NZX:SNK), The Hyperfactory (ace’d NYSE:MDP) and Pacific Connections, the first NASDAQ listed Asian internet company. He is also founding Board Director of the Mobile Marketing Association Asia Pacific and Global Board Director of the Mobile Marketing Association. Handley serves as Expert in Residence at Chinaccelerator, Founding Limited Partner and advisor to NY-based Eniac Ventures as well as advisor at Nest.vc. Wei Zhou (CEO and Founder Xnode) - Xnode a company specializing in co-working space and startup acceleration. Xnode currently has three locations in central Shanghai: Fudan Bay Valley, Jingan Temple area, and North Bund. Before that, Wei was founder of Belgravia Serviced Residence/Hotels. Wei successfully exited in 2014 to a Japanese listed RE company.  Wei was managing director of vision capital, a European private equity fund. Wei was also a founding venture partner of Jade Invest, a leading FOF fund in China. Prior to that, Wei was a consultant/project manager with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.. Wei got his BA from Beijing Foreign Affairs College and MSc in Economics/Information System Management from London School of Economics Daryl Teo (CEO, Spout Entertainment Group) - Daryl was Vice-President, Product of TheMobileGamer, acquired by Softbank, Singtel, Konami in 2011. Formerly Head, Strategic Products at Grab, Daryl’s understanding of Southeast Asia helped to create several new business ventures such as GrabHitch, GrabBike and GrabPay. Alongside investors Didi Chuxing and Tiger Global, he was also based in Beijing in 2015, setting up Grab's Engineering HQ in China. Prior to that, Daryl was based in Silicon Valley, USA where he was the Director of Product in Openbucks, a fintech startup invested by former Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang and Greycroft Partners. Daryl currently manages Reapra, a SGD0M venture fund and heads up Spout, a media distribution company bringing the best of global content into Southeast Asia. Adrian was born in Mexico City, raised in New York City, and has traveled over 60 countries. Additionally, he lived and worked in Chile, Mexico, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, UK, Poland and San Francisco.
